Off we go....Our first stop Susanville, CA.  Only 90min from Reno but it brought us to the Biz Johnson Bike Trail!  Biz Johnson is the longest Rails to Trails route in California.  While cycling along the trail we found a lovely off the beaten path campground that you would only see if you were riding on the trail.  

Our original plan was to cycle and then head towards Lasson Nat'l Park but that quaint little campground hidden deep in the woods called to us.  We finished our ride and made our way back to Goumez Campground.  It was the absolutely perfect spot to conclude the first day of this magnificent journey.

June 11 & 12th Back to the Past....or at Least 2006 WINTHROP, WA TO TONASKET TO OROVILLE WA Nineteen years ago-yep, you read that right, nineteen-Bob and I each set off on a Life-changing bike journeys across the United States.
